I’ve been reading a new book called The Host. It’s by Stephenie Meyer (author of the “Twilight” series).
It’s not about vampires and has nothing to do with “Twilight,” but it’s really good. I really am enjoying it. I would totally recommend it to you guys but especially to people who really love Stephenie Meyer.
When I tell you what it’s about you’re going to totally think it’s weird. The Host is about these souls. Some souls are Seekers and some are Healers. The Seekers capture the humans and bring them to the Healers. The Healers put a soul in the humans. A soul controls the body and is the new host. The human that was once controlling the body is supposed to fade away.
Then a human named Melanie gets a soul put in her called Wanderer. Melanie is strong and doesn’t fade away. She refuses to give up possession of her mind. Wanderer is controlling the body, but Melanie is still talking to her inside her head.
I don’t want to tell you any more because I don’t want to ruin it in case you decide to read it.
I really think you should read it. At least give it a try. It is so good!

Amber, as we discussed, I haven’t read the “Harry Potter” or “Twilight” series. Neither J.K. Rowling nor Stephenie Meyer. Everybody, including you, keeps telling me I should read all those books. Guess I will, someday.
I see there’s a certain amount of argument going on between supporters of Rowling and supporters of Meyer. Each thinks their favorite author is the best. Since you’ve read both of them, what do you think?
