It must be interesting to view from afar what is happening here in the states. And for those of us who are not sitting around watching reality TV but are keenly watching the socialism unfold in this country, it is unnerving. Back in the days of the USSR, few Russians took it seriously, and not many take it seriously today. Given that this is one columnist writing in Pravda, I wouldn't worry about it. The translation of the Russian in red in the old Pravda poster with Lenin is: <em>The newspaper --- not only a collective propagandist and a collective agitator, but also a collective organizer.</em> Under the word "Pravda" at the top, it says "Organ of the Central Committee of the CPSU." (CPSU means Communist Party of the Soviet Union.) Why does all this make me think of The New York Times? Maybe they should change their motto from "All the news that's fit to print" to "Organ of the Democractic Party of the U.S." Just a thought.
